Introduction
First, I want to Thank you, our valued customers
for making this “American Dream” a reality.
The Patented Accu-Shot precision monopod was introduced
in January 2000 and continues to gain market acceptance
as more shooters are exposed to it. Having satisfied
customers in every state of the Union and 19 countries
is very rewarding. And we are proud that the law enforcement
and military communities, at home and abroad are finding
a benefit in using the Accu-Shot.
As an alternative to a sandbag, there is nothing
else like the patented Accu-Shot on the market, in
fact Accu-Shot has been called the “Sandbag
of the 21st Century”. Simply put, it solves
the problem for the butt of a rifle that a bipod solves
for the front, resulting in a stable three point shooting
platform. B&T Industries L.L.C. has brought two
new models to the public. The BT04 Locking model,
which has become our best seller, and the BT06 Extended
height Locking model for those shooters wanting to
get a bit higher off the ground. B&T Industries
L.L.C. is constantly developing new products, including
some co-op projects with several well-known manufactures
in the shooting industry. Come back for a visit to
see what’s new.
History
Here is how it started. In 1997, a good friend, James
Starkey, invited me to go on a prairie dog hunt. It
was my first long-range shooting experience. Upon
arrival, James discovered he had forgotten his sandbag,
a crucial tool he used for making elevation adjustments
with a bipod. I watched as he resorted to a time-honored,
field-expedient solution: putting dirt in a sock —
the one he had been wearing.
Later, I was reading an article on precision rifle
shooting. In the article, the author wrote about using
a "butt bag" to manipulate the buttstock
of the rifle while shooting in a prone position. Remembering
my friend's dilemma, a thought occurred to me: Why
can't a shooter have something that will attach to
the rifle easily and quickly that replaces the need
for a sandbag? The right tool would attach to the
rifle stock, allow for vertical adjustments while
using a bipod in a prone position, and ought to be
lightweight and compact, locking up out of the way
when the rifle is used off-hand.
Months of exhaustive modeling, prototyping and testing
followed. We used a Remington 700PSS in .300 Winchester
Magnum as a test platform and went through more than
5,000 rounds of factory ammunition. In one tough testing
day, 1,060 rounds went down range in nine hours, with
Accu-Shot directing the shots. The rifle's throat
was utterly spent, and the barrel got so hot it melted
the scope cover and warped the stock! It was this
design that performed flawlessly we decided upon and
thus began the manufacturing and marketing process.
We are Thankful to be Americans and proud of our
American made products. We stand behind their quality
and durability. If you have any questions, ideas or
suggestions about improving Accu-Shot, or have a proprietary
subject matter and need help with it, feel free to
contact us.
Accu-Shot is the culmination of countless hours of
thinking, modeling, designing, drawing, fashioning,
testing — and listening. We listened to the
suggestions of both professional and amateur shooters
who had much to say. We thank all who had a hand in
its birth, James Starkey at Starkey Engineering and
Design, for help and suggestions beyond the call —
but mostly for forgetting his sandbag. John Baxter
at ACME Design Co. for all the wise counsel and believing
in this project. And many thanks to the machinists,
printers, web designers and manufacturers who have
helped make Accu-Shot the product it is. Lastly, Thank
you for your interest in our product line. We hope
that you become a valued customer.
